This Privacy Policy describes how Ice Zoo Board ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Ice Zoo Board application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Authentication information — When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier via Firebase Authentication. When you sign in with email and password, we store your email address and a hashed version of your password in Firebase Authentication.
- Game data — Scores, timer states, team names, team logos (stored as base64 images), period information, and penalty data you enter while using the App are stored in Firebase Firestore.
- Usage data — Firebase may collect basic usage and performance data as part of its standard services.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and control access to the operator (control) interface
- To store and synchronise game state in real time across devices
- To display your league and team branding on the scoreboard
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Firebase and Google Services
The App is built on Google Firebase. By using the App, you are also subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase services used include:
- Firebase Authentication — manages sign-in and user identity
- Cloud Firestore — stores game state and settings
- Firebase Hosting — serves the App
- Firebase App Check — protects backend resources from abuse
4. Data Retention
Game data is stored in Firestore until you manually delete it or reset your game. Authentication data is retained until you delete your account. You may contact us to request deletion of your data at any time.
5. Data Security
We use Firebase's built-in security features including authentication-gated Firestore rules and App Check to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure — you use the App at your own risk.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
The App uses browser local storage to cache game data for offline support and faster loading. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
